The first Monk webisode, Mr. Monk Goes to the Gym, is now available. Please share your thoughts here.

I went to your link for "Gym" and I clicked on "Gym" from there and I get a blank pop window and it doesn't play anything. I use a PC with Windows 2000. Is there a mistake with your link to the wepisode?

Wow nice pants

Make sure you have the newest version of the Flash Player and a broadband connection to properly view the video.
Cheechawker
Did you see? He still had his clothes on under his sweats. I saw his shirt collar sticking out from under his sweat shirt!
ClippoPuppet
That was great! Bring on the others!!!!
speedigy
The webisode is funny. I like it.
Mel
It was very good, I liked it a lot.
Raven
I like those sweats too elaine!
Great clip!! I really thought Monk was going to lift weights, I was actually momentarily suprised when he started arranging them. I should have known!
Snapping his butt with a towel, LOL!
Poor Monk, surrounded by the horrors of sweaty nakedish bodies.
MrMonkIsMyIdol
What was the guy with the weights saying? I couldn't understand him.
ClippoPuppet
He was calling for someone to spot him because the weight was too heavy and he couldn't hold it.
annajones
Thanks. I downloaded the Flash link you gave me and it works. The Gym episode is fun. Can't wait for the next ones.
Neat_Freak
Very nice.
Renee27
That was cute . . . but why are they calling it a Web exclusive when it aired during the show?
dollyflint
I like the cream colored suit, though it makes his shoes look dirty.
Webisodes would be great for outtakes. I hope they go more in that direction than being more like really long "characters wanted" promos. (I'm in the mood for another shoving match between Adrian and Harold, personally.)
But what was their budget for extras this week, phew! Put him back in the gym, change his shoes and make him run a few laps. No extras needed!
MonkFanToo
I think webisodes are a good idea--I just hope they will get better (and better). The "Mr. Monk Goes To The Gym" bit was a bit out of character for Monk plus I kinda don't believe he wouldn't help the guy lifting the weights (with some pallet jack or something!) when the guy couldn't hold it and yelled for a spotter! And then to have Monk tell Nat at the end that "It was a killer..." in answer to her inquiry of was it a good workout seemed, well, rather inappropriate as a promo DURING the actual, terrific, dynamite, super, fantastic, couldn't ask for more MONK Christmas episode! Now, that was A KILLER! Leaving the guy to be strangled by the 850 lb weights WASN'T!! Still, I do feel it's a great idea to have webisodes IF they then are shown later ON or DURING AN ACTUAL MONK EPISODE for those of us WHO DO NOT HAVE THE LATEST FLASH UPGRADE AND CANNOT EVER SEE THE USA Net Website pages for MONK, download any newer Flash programs, or thus see these clever NEW Monk Webisodes on-line!!!! Did I mention the MONK Christmas episode was grand and had everything we could have wanted!?

Monk caroling with that silly wax from the candle dripping on his hands, burning and bothering him was a riot along with the reasons both Nat and Adrian gave for not having more than just the two carolers at the woman's door: creative differences; religious connotations not acceptable, etc., etc. JUST GREAT! SUPER! (Lousy singing--and we all know Monk can sing MUCH better than he did at the door--but still GREAT!)

Cheers!
Lee

P.S. In the episode with Sharona when Monk told her that he could bench press several hundred pounds and asked what she could press leads me to kinda doubt that Monk wouldn't understand when a weight lifter was calling "Spotter!" just what the guy really needed....
noisynobody22
hee hee !. monk looked rather uncomfortable in that gym didn't he. I wonder what compelled him to go there?
MonkFanToo
At first I thought it was going to be worked in as a kind of New Year's resolution thing--you know, get in shape, be physically fit... But then as he had a harder and harder time of just being there due to the sweat, the nakedish women, the locker room oders, I thought it would be a resolution he'd have to immediatly break--until he spotted the weights. Then we had Monk as dumb as a door knob just wiping the weight lifter's brow (while the weight lifter is calling for a spotter to help him get the weight off) and then walking out and depositing the wipe in the garbage can. Sure was a fast "hour" he told Nat he'd be there, wasn't it??--Lee
Raven
I thought it was a fast hour too, and I wondered what would posess Monk to want to go to a gym in the first place. Also he had no problem touching those weights he was rearranging when they must be full of germs.
But I still loved it. Seeing him in such a 'foreign' environment was good. The towel snap I particularly enjoyed.
MONKobsessed
I too think a trip to the gym is a lil' out of character for Monk, but the webisode was cute. I am slightly disturbed by the spotting incident but I guess they had to bring all the elements together in one tag. Overall, I think it's a great start and I can't wait to see more.
Katie081990
I love the new site and the webisodes!!

I especially like the picture of monk in the yellow rain jacket!!!
extex2
Hey boss man!
How often are we going to get new webisodes?
Not that I am needy or anything
elaine
Midori
I really like this webisode! I was wondering what the song in the background was though, the techno, cause I really like it.
Raven
I liked that music too. I also like the cream color of Adrian's sweats. I have never seen that color before , in sweats.
monkfan3
They should seriously sell Monk sweatshirts, that'd be awesome.

I liked the towel snap to the butt! That was my favorite part!

What was he doing when he first got there? Stretching? It looked so... awkward that it was silly. I felt embarrassed for Monk then, but wow, the towel snap.... That'd be me doing that to him

You'll have to fight me for the privilege of snapping his butt! LOL
MONKobsessed
Now kids, settle down before I have to separate you two! LOL... I'm sure there's enough Monk bottom to go around!
Niffla
Hilarious. Loved when Nat said "Go get em'!" to Monk also. Too funny.
Monk0512
Hey y'all! I don't think that Webisode was very good... At least I expected more from it, it could have been funnier. But I think MONK has a huge potential for such Webisodes. These clips of USANetwork e.g. were very funny I think (there was one with a dishwasher and one in the supermarket and another one I don't remember at the moment...)!
MonkFanToo
The other MONK promo was Monk separating his newspapers by sections (sports/financial/etc) for recycling. And I agree (as I've mentioned the same thing here on this thread in an earlier post). It's as if they were really trying too hard to make the "Mr. Monk Goes To The Gym" webisode funny and came up a bit short. Maybe fans could suggest some ideas/treatments for these MONK webisodes (which are also currently being used as MONK promos on USA Network)!? --Lee
MonkeyMonkey
It was cute, but... what was Monk doing in a gym? I am surprised he even owned a sweat suit. What was the bit about the woman doing leg exercises - was Monk supposed to be attracted to her, dizzy, or confused? That weird music.

What happened to the guy at the end? If the weights fell on his chest and killed him, I didn't find that funny. Monk at the end said his workout was "killer".
thunder27263
Is that Punky Brewster's Soleil Moon Frye?

I think he was "looking into Pilates."

All I can say is I liked it and more please!!

Yes yes! Please, do tell us what that song is! I love it! Maybe the Admin knows?

And BTW, yeah, it's a great little clip.

I asked, and I was told that it's just stock music.
Ghaladriel
Oh my god!!!

Simply fantastic!!!! I laughed again and again!!!
I just want to say one thing:

I love Monk!!!!
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, I thought it was okay. No idea why Monk was in a gym, but the following was funny. Wish there was more drama. Thanks.
MonkFanToo
If the "Mr. Monk Goes To The Gym" webisode has simply "stock" music, perhaps it was composed by MONK series' music man, Jeff Beal? Perhaps we could/should hop over to Jeff Beal's website and ask if he did, in fact, compose it?? It would be great if he did as Jeff provides free downloads of his Emmy Award winning (and not just for MONK Season One theme) music and compositions!

--Lee
Monkster
The song was awsome.. I wish the admin could tell us more about it than just being a "stock" song, whatever that means.. Anyhow looking forward to another great season
MonkFanToo
Why not ask Jeff Beal at JeffBeal.com ?
Inferno999
'Did. I'm waiting for a reply.
Garak
For the love of all that is good I must know what this song is! I've been running the clip over and over again just to listen to it. If it's just stock music, is there any way to know who the heck composed it? Please, I'm getting desperate here! lol
Bubba_Bridges
HI Bubba here, I like the one where he's at the supermarket. That one cracks me up. Thanks.
monkfan3
I loved that! I am phscyed that they are coming out with 3 new shorts like Mr. Monk Goes to the Gym. That was fantastic! Loved the music, and I just about died when that lady slapped Adrain's butt. Everyday Monk on the computer, ah how I love it.

Hi Bubba here, one word sums it up SPOT, SPOT, SPOT.
skyfullofstars
Yeah, I'm a big fan of the soundtrack too. And I would certainly spend good money for 38-45 minutes worth! Perhaps the producer of the webisode could point us in the direction of the stock library it was obtained from. But it sounds like it could have been performed by Darude (think Sandstorm). Hmmmm. Maybe there's a concept album here.
ondie
I think the other one may have been where he was sorting newspapers by their sections for recycling.
kees_lady
There was a new one on tonight featuring the Monk-ish quiz, unfortunately I had my back to the TV playing on the PC and missed the view but it was dang cute sounding - keep an eye out for it.

I like Mr. Monk at the Gym, it's almost as good as an episode and I LOL at the end, the guy yelling 'spot', and Adrian saying his workout was a 'killer' - another little joke from Monkland.
