It seems like this site is visited more by pet owners than by breeders, trainers, or people who run their dogs in competitions.

I see people are often browsing this site but no one seems to respond to posts. Any clues out there. This could be a great site for all peoples to share their stories about their pet dogs, Q & A's, mixed breeds, problem prevention and solving. Let's try to make this site a place for people to go to talk dogs, OK?

Sticks and Stones, Cross skulls and Bones,
None of You can Hurt me.

Cartoons and pictures, Words said in Whispers
The Ramblings of Sick Purple People Eaters.

The best place for you is a place called Bellevue
Where the doctors can try to fix you.

Psychotic drugs, electric shock plugs
Are the best cures for whatever ails you.

When all's said and done and your gray matter's dung
You won't have a brain left between you.

I came to this site because I also love dogs, I own dogs, I will always own dogs, I have shown dogs, bred dogs, spent my life with dogs and work with dogs at the place where I work.

I had hopes that this would be a place to come to talk about dogs, any dogs, all dogs, my dogs, your dogs, anybody's dogs. A place to ask questions about dogs,, get and give advice about dogs, complain about bad habits dogs have, brag about our dogs. Guess that's not going to happen so I'll go back to watching TV about dogs. Sorry if I offended anyone who comes here. Kees lady.

Kees-lady, I barely know what BIS means, but love the critters. Incidentally, what is Sweeps and Brace?

Sweeps as I understand it are a group of pups from this years breeding which compete together for Best in Sweeps which means that the winner dog and winner female both conform as close to the standard of the breed as is humanly possible to breed. This competition only comes up when a Specialty Show is held for that specific breed.

A Brace is a pair of dogs who are so identical in size and color, movement, etc. that it is hard to tell them apart. Two Champions can be shown together on one lead in Best of Breed competition or in obedience competition. Obedience competition is the hardest because both dogs must perform the obedience trial in perfect coordination with each other.

Hope this answers your questions. If one is not familiar with dog shows it can sometimes be very difficult to explain in layman terms.

Thanks so much for all the information.

Brace sounds so interesting. I hope I get to see it.

I was watching Crutch? (a British one) and there was some kind of group competition where they had to do things in unison and people were sad that they hadn't been able to practice more together (or simply didn't take the time - I don't know which).

Didn't get to watch that one, I think it's called Cruft's. It's one of Englands biggest shows, the elite of the elite.
