For those who are fans of 'Next Great American Band' runners up, Sixwire, here's an update:
Sixwire has a new album project in the works via Kickstarters. They are collecting pledges and need to raise nearly $20,000 by May 25, 2012 to enable them to independently release an album of new material. Sixwire's website has a video up about the project (all on the up-and-up) and you can hear clips of some awesome new songs. You may also have seen Sixwire as house band of 'Can You Duet' and 'CMT's Next Superstar'. These guys are incredibly talented and I've heard a lot of fans from the tv shows say that they'd like to buy a Sixwire album if they could. This could be just the way to make that happen. Check out the video at Sixwire's site and, if you like what you hear (how could you not?!), pledge your support and help spread the word to give them the little boost they need to get their music out to the people where it can be properly appreciated!

If they're so talented, and have had TV Gigs that presumably pay pretty well, why can't they come up with $4K each on their own, instead of making their fans finance their new CD?
They've had 10 years to save up for a new album, since their last release was in 2002.
