Wednesday and Thursday shooting spent a lot of time at the same place, which I now know was on the north side, just north of Miami Dade College's north campus. I managed a driveby today, but there was nowhere close enough to stand and watch. They were in a large fenced lot/field next to a factory of some kind. Scott tweeted a picture of a burrowing owl who was there and who was not thrilled with some of the explosions (I am sure no animals were harmed.

They had a very big explosion today and Bruce tweeted a photo of the smoke ring after it.

All I could see from my driveby was their tents, mostly. I did see the fake cop cars. They also had a fire engine there, but that might have been as a precaution. I was there an hour after Bruce tweeted that photo and could see a smoldering pile of something, but couldn't tell what it was.

When I was looping around, I was several blocks away and saw a helicopter go by. It could have been unrelated or could have been part of the filming. It only went by once and I didn't have a view of their site as it went by.

They finished at that location in the afternoon.

Only other news was the film permit, which is pretty general with "City of Miami streets, Downtown Miami streets, Miami-Dade County off-duty police. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department."

Finally able to get Friday's info up here. Still filming 601. They spent at least part of the day in downtown Miami, around 500 NE 1st Avenue (Christ Fellowship downtown). EK had photos of the new prop man and also them confusing day and night.

Someone from the church tweeted this little collage, and that looks like Gabrielle in the dress she wore in the finale, right?

Edited to add: Just checked back on the church people. Someone asked one of them about the scene and the guy said "It was an interrogation scene at a court house."

Friday was a very long day. One of the extras mentioned lunch at 3:30 and also said they made a guy shave his mustache for a scene. Scott Clements was working until at least 11.

Scott tweeted an upside down shot of focus puller Peter Farber. Peter is on Twitter now as @peteor96 and he tweeted this photo of his camera.

Another photo from Scott was of stand-in Kyle, who is standing in for a mysterious returning star.

Scott also was tweeting about the difficulties the sound department has when they are out in the world (which is most days of the week): "Inside plain gray room, right next 2 major semi truck route = loud trucks in the scene with no matching visual."

Monday is the last day of shooting for 601. 603 should start Tuesday.

Today was the last day of episode 601. Started with a visit from Dulé Hill, who was in Miami for Wrestlemania. Picture of Dulé on the set and one of him with JD and BC.

We got photos of Hank the grip, graffiti, the Charger, and the hallway. Plus some nice water shots from Scott and Craig.

The main description of the day came from EK: "Today caterer fell off truck, camera guy took header into rocks but all overshadowed as stunt coord didn't get his Burn Notice license plate."

Work started Tuesday on episode 603.

BURN NOTICE, Episode 603
Director: Nick Gomez
Writer: Ben Watkins
Shoot Dates: 4/3-4/12
Location: Miami

[AYN] (40s, Any Ethnicity except Caucasian; a prisoner who doesn't play by the rules, uses equal parts charm, smarts, and ruthlessness to get what she wants) Just because she's an inmate at the Allarod Federal Penitentiary doesn't mean you won't see Ayn listening to an iPod while lounging on some throw pillows. AYN (the letters stand for All-You-Need) can get her hands on almost anything (within reason) because she knows how to play the game. A little blackmail, a little bribery, and a whole lotta cunning. But she doesn't collect these creature comforts for only herself; she's made a nice business of trading items for favors and building up her power inside the prison. A hard-edged businesswoman, she knows that friends are always less important than customers. Guest star - possible recur.
[AHMED MANSOUR] In his 50s, a steely-eyed Lebanese man with an imperious glare, he's an arrogant agent. Ahmed is wily, cautious and ruthless. A man who believes that a shot in the back is the best way to handle the opposition. He has committed and gotten away with heinous acts in the past but his sins are about to catch up with him. GUEST STAR (12) Faran Tahir was cast.

[SHARIF MANSOUR] Late 20s to early 30s. The son and heir of Ahmed Mansour, Sharif is an a-hole-in-training, a spoiled rich kid who's spent his entire life surrounded by bodyguards and cocooned in a family compound. He's the kind of young douche who likes to joke around -- but at heart, he's a total prick. GUEST STAR (12)

On Tuesday there was a lot of filming along the Miami River. Bruce was there and Seth Peterson is back in town. Lots of photos from Seth and a few from Bruce. Here's Seth with a gun and with Bruce. The only other photo that might be interesting in terms of the plot was this one that Seth tweeted.

For Wednesday, they were looking for extras for a casino scene. A number of people tweeted that they were filming at a hotel, and I am thinking it was the Mayfair in Coconut Grove. I also saw several people who said they met Coby.

Found this photo of Jeffrey and Bruce, which looks like the Mayfair. Later someone tweeted this photo, which is of Florida Street in the Grove, right by there. Scott tweeted this photo of the lighting stand in Kyle on the monitor.

The film permit for this week listed Crandon Park, nothing else specific.

Today was their last day of work before the holiday weekend. I think they were filming at the stage, maybe around the Carlito or loft in the morning.

Some photos included this one from Scott, showing monitors and script pages (and the image looks like a hospital setup). The prop guy with a cake, camera guy, and picture of Tom Selleck, because why not?

They are also looking for a prison guard for next Wednesday (and the role might go into next episode) and I saw a guy who was going to read for a cab driver role. We really don't see a lot of that on BN (cabs).

The NBC Nightly News story about filming in Miami tonight featured about a minute of BN. It is posted in the press thread and spoilers and I put it with the appropriate day's filming in this thread. They shot during 602, when JD was directing, and I could tell they were at the boat ramp, which means it was March 20.

Back to work Monday on 603. Over the weekend I saw a booking announcement for someone playing a prison trustee in this episode. Also this photo of JD and Fred, although I cannot tell when it was taken.

They were looking for more prison guards/prisoners for Wednesday and I think I saw tweets from a guy who will be a guard tomorrow.

Scott tweeted this photo of a small set they are using, looking for guesses as to what it is (but not providing any answers). I think it could be something medical because there seemed to be a lot of medical stuff last week.

Best photo of the day came from Boston Celtics player Greg Stiemsma, who was visiting the set. Possibly intriguing bit of ofino if you enlarge it (yeah, cover ID, I don't think so here; if you want to discuss it, please take it to the Spec thread).

Craig's scouting tweets:
"I've hired a new assistant whose entire job is to turn any object I hand him into a prison shiv. He's unnervingly good at it!"
"Overheard in scout van: "Really?! I offered to give somebody a kidney?! How long ago was that?""
"We're tech scouting a day ahead of schedule, my rib is healing, and Mike Horowitz has relaxed his "30 ft rule." A good week at Burn Notice"

Tuesday-Wednesday work on 603.

Seth had a bunch of pictures from Tuesday. Go check his Twitter feed for all of them. Some of the highlights are one of him, his chair, the Charger engine, and a knife.

Tuesday morning they were definitely out on Virginia Key/Key Biscayne because Seth had a photo from the causeway on the way back, when he said he had loft scenes to do.

The morning also had someone wandering around with a horsehead, although I am pretty sure we won't see that in the show.

Scott joked to Seth: "Don't tweet near the SUV, I saw the fx guys plotting something over there. Remotely triggered by tweeting." (They really should do that. Would be awesome.)

Scott tweeted a photo of the space where the small set had been the day before, showing how quickly they can build and demolish things.

Today Scott was praising the work of Craig and his crew, for something we haven't seen yet: "So impressed with the brilliance of Craig. You should see the amazing set I'm looking at right now. Well done art dept."

Jeffrey was en route to New York, so nothing from him on set.

EK tweeted this amusing storyboard photo. And someone got a shot of Bruce from filming at a hotel, but I don't know what hotel.

Hello everyone!

How good it is to see back the action on this forum!! June is coming!

Just a comment on the picture where we see Gabrielle Anwar in a white dress... Yes, it looks like the one of last episode of S5 but not sure the part in the neck is the same (sorry, I do not know how to say "bretelles" in English!). Also, her hair seem in a ponytail and in last episode, they were on her shoulders...

Anyway, important thing is that they are filming and soon we will watch S6!!!!

Have a great day!

Thursday's filming was the last day of work on 603. They were shooting at a mansion down in Pinecrest. Seth had lots of photos of the mansion and the cars, which were not being used by the show.

Here's the mansion and Seth wearing gloves (lots of medical stuff previous week too). Another photo Oscar took of himself, director Nick Gomez, and writer Ben Watkins.

Will do a new post for the new episode, even though we don't have much info.

Episode 604

Director: Dennie Gordon
Writer: ??
Shoot Dates: 4/13-23

So, with that lack of info, I can say they were filming in the West Grove on Friday, around Plaza and Thomas streets, south of Grand Avenue.

Scott had this photo of the Charger with a green screen, which was not related to the day's filming. He did mention “We don't normally do green screen, but rear screen projection or really driving.”

It was EK's birthday, and she had this video from Oscar.

An extra who was working on Friday was told the episode would air in July. We don't have a premiere date, but if that info is correct (often it is not), that would put the premiere somewhere between June 14 and July 5 (no real surprise). But again, the extras frequently come up with inaccurate info about air dates.

Monday-Tuesday work on 604:

Monday they were way down south near Homestead, on SW 107th Ave, near SW 288th Street.

Today I saw a tweet from a NASCAR guy that they were filming Monday at the Homestead racetrack. Edited to add: Not sure if that guy was talking about now or 3 weeks ago. An article appeared about them filming at the speedway on March 26 (premiere). I will link that in the older post.

We had photos from EK (Cater truck in flames, electric broke down, locations drove into a canal, US1 shut down for real hi speed chase. Typical Monday), Jeffrey and Bruce. Later a gator photo from EK and another pic from Scott, who said it was very windy.

Today they might have been back there or somewhere equally rural. EK said a stunt guy shot a python (Burmese pythons are invasive here and a large problem in the Everglades).

Scott had photos of the dolly pushers and rigging for a driving shot. I also found this photo of the Charger, but can't be sure it is from today.

I have to wonder if there will be some big BOOM nearby in the night air tonight. When I got back to the boat late this afternoon, I saw a small pontoon/barge, maybe 40' long, anchored behind me. I noticed the guys were setting up guns (that's what we call the tubes from which fireworks are shot - I used to do fireworks shows, so it caught my eye quickly) and loading shells into them. However, there weren't enough of them to be a fireworks show, and they way they were stacked together, they weren't re-loadable in that configuration (you never reach over a gun to reload a shell!). That got me thinking it might be a Burn Notice prop. I don't know where they went. When they were done with their set up, they pulled up anchor and got a police escort to somewhere nearby.

Thanks, Sanctuary. Good to know. Let us know if you see/hear anything else.

Wednesday-Thursday stuff on 604. They were still out in the boonies somewhere, I assume down south.

Wednesday's photos from EK included the gear needed and a nearby sign.

Scott's photos included some crew, a crew T shirt from last year, and a crane.

Oscar had his prep work.

Craig had a tree photo.

Danny had them trying out a stunt back at the stage.

The film permit listed them in usual places and also Chapman Field, and now that I research that, it might be where they have been all week.

Thursday's tweets were mostly from Scott, who had the flyswatter, the chairs, and this video of Petey.

The other intriguing photo was of Bruce, looking a little worse for the wear.

Thanks for the link, bcmom! It is clear that Seth Peterson is a cool guy. If I lived in Center Grove, or wherever, I would love to get a knock on my door from the BN crew asking to film in my house. How awesome is that??

Just a few bits from Friday's filming. They had 3 units out working and I am not sure where any of them were.

Most of the day's pictures were related to filming a car chase, with Craig's photo of the 'software' they use to plan them. And 2 photos of storyboards, one from EK and one from Scott.

Scott was also playing a game on Twitter, with photos of stuff that will appear and asking what will happen to it. From that we got a payphone and this round thing.

An extra tweeted a photo of herself in prison garb and said it was that day, so maybe more prison scenes?

Monday is last day of work on 604.

Just a couple of bits from Monday: we found out that Dennie Gordon directed episode 604. Scott tweeted this ladder photo, which is said is used a lot in Dennie's episodes. The were filming in Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove, which is just a short distance from the soundstage.

Also, not directly related to filming, but may cause some traffic jams: The Mark Wahlberg film "Pain and Gain" has been filming around Miami and now it looks like they will be using some of the expo center's space, too.

Will do a new post for the new episode that started today.

BURN NOTICE, Episode 605, "Split Decision"
Director: Scott Peters
Writers: Ryan Johnson & Peter Lalayanis
Shoot Dates: 4/24-5/2
Location: Miami

[WES FOSTER] 40, clever and dangerous, head of an established crime family, out for vengeance. Crime is in Wes Foster's blood. His father was a major player in a crime syndicate and his father before him. It's the foundation of his family's empire. Wes is now running that empire and he's pretty good at it - he's focused and ruthless, even if he does like to party occasionally. Ever since Wes' father died in prison, however, Wes has been obsessed with tracking down the snitch that put him there. He's ready to put a bullet in the C.I. that led to his father's arrest and he's compiled massive amounts of information about him. He's positive he knows how it all went down... which is going to make it very difficult for us to make him believe that he's wrong. GUEST STAR

Oscar photo from prep.

They had lovely cool weather today, which is unheard of this late in April. Scott commented on it early: "Late April in Miami. I'm wearing a jacket and I can see my breath. What's up with that? Not that I'm complaining, it's pretty nice." And later in the day: "Sound Tip. We often use small lavaliere mics and transmitters to spy on, I mean hear the actors' lines."
