Andy has won!!

HE just seemed to come off better than Luke, and every single judge agreed, as Andy was the unaminous choice tonight.

Booker summed it all up with the following comment:

He has the "It Factor"!!!

I couldn't have disagreed more. Andy didn't look like he belonged in the ring tonight. He's a year or two away. He doesn't have much experience; once he gets it, he'll be great. But Luke was ready now.

To be a WWE superstar, it''s so much more than athleticism. If that was the case everybody would become a superstar if they had a good body. You need to be in great shape, have good looks, be an entertainer, and have lots of charisma. Without Charisma, there is no point to becoming a WWE superstar. That was something Andy SERIOUSLY lacked. Luke had it all, nice shape, good athleticism, GOOD looks, and ALOT of charisma. He knew how to talk shit in the ring, which is a BIG part of the WWE. Andy was not the best candidate for this title, Luke (OR MARTIN!!) deserved this WAY more. Andy may be in good shape, but he lacked the other important factors. Therefore, Andy should not have won.

I would have to agree with you on these points that you made.  To be a great personality in the wrestling business you must be athletic to a degree, and have a magnetic peersonality.  You must have something about your personality that people will want to see.  Most people give theirselves the best chance they can get by  being in good enough shape, looking appealing to people, make themselves hated to the point that people can't help but watch you just in hopes that you lose (that is what a great heel does), and works the mic to get the crowd buying into what he/she desires.  If a person lacks in one of these departments then they usually make up for it by being extremely good in another.  Luke did not lack in any department desired by a good wrestler.  Luke lost to Andy's size.  Since Vince took over the WWE from his dad (or WWF back then) he has been in love with having the muscle freaks, or the big monsters over having skilled showmen who can work their butts off.  Andy is capable at best but that is where the compliments end.  He was so nervous everytime he was around the mic that he shook and gulped.  Let's not be silly, Stone Cold did not make this decision.  No, it begins and ends with Vince McMahon.  Vince thinks everyone wants to see a big guy do big moves but this big guy can't hold the mic and he will never get a real push as a superstar.  Luke lost to Vince's fetish for "The Monster" look.  Can't wait to laugh at Andy's first promo.

I have to say that while I'm glad Andy won, and since they showed some weird splice-up over music rather than just showing the actual FCW matches (weird choice there), I can't really judge those... who knows, maybe Luke flumped in that? Because he said he didn't give his best afterwards. But yeah, Andy seems less ready, I agree. My guess is that, beyond actually the size thing which sure Vince does have a thing for, most likely Luke's past involvements with porn wrestling came back to haunt him here. Vince probably thinks, "I'd rather not have that hanging over this whole thing... Andy wins". But yes, swayed by Andy's size as well. That's my guess.

I would agree with this, plus...Luke did say in front of Booker and Trish that he did not have his best night (The FCW match with Bill DeMott) but I would guess that Luke eliminated himself when he first joined the BG East.

I thought/think that Andy looked great in the ring, but he was nervous in front of Vince. He obviously wasn't prepared for that, but if you take that sequence out of the equation, I don't believe that Andy was second best to Luke at all.

Luke is more polished with the mic for sure. We all saw that, but he said the same thing he's been saying for two and a half months. "I'm the best", "I'm already a superstar", etc.

I think it got old, and Trish hit the nail right squarely on the head when she said she wanted to slap the cockiness out of Luke's mouth.

I couldn't have said it any better.

The one thing I was surprised by was that when they said "it's Luke versus Andy", I supposed that we might get to see a match. I thought the drum-roll was just a prelude to Austin stunning McMahon and saying "start the damn match!" and it would be one of those matches where they would only let them know the winner, via the ref, right at the end of it. So I was a bit disappointed in that, especially since they didn't show the FCW matches. I figured at the time "hey, they've got the one big match left - that's what really counts, so that's why they're only showing bits and pieces of these ones".
