That's Fantastic! The last time we heard Eames talk about her father was back in season 6. And now we're going to meet her father compare to meeting her sister in season 8.

Raymond J Barry is everybody's daddy, LOL. First Lilly Rush (Cold Case),then Raylan Givens (Justified), now Eames. Hopefully he'll be a more traditional father to Eames.

Did we ever meet her sister, or did it just say we were going to and never did?

I think the casting call sheet for "Folie a Deux" included a scene with Eames and her sister, but for whatever reason, we never met her. I'm excited that they are exploring her family background!

And we're going to be reminded once again how everyone in the NYPD comes from dysfunctional backgrounds. Geesh, give it a rest, would you.

Oh, it could get much uglier than that my friend. This is the L&O-verse, where if you are not a regualr character, you're probably a susprect, if not an actual killer. If you actually know the main characters, your risk of being a killer go up exponentially. Remember Deakins's old friend who became a politician?

Poor, poor Alex. I just hope the real killer isn't her nephew.

"Characters Welcome" my ass!

In network television's war on fans, the worst criminal offenders are running this network.

A "complicated" relationship doesn't necessarily mean "dysfunctional". No family is perfect. It's the way they deal with the problems that is very telling. Eames could resolve her differences with her dad and end up having a heart-touching warm-fuzzy feel-good moment.
I don't think we would learn anything new about Eames if she didn't have some "meaty' scenes with her dad.

Wish granted - tonight's episode introduces us to "Johnny Eames". Apparently, he knew criminal Johnny Driscoll, who turned out to be a "whack" job (heh, heh).

I learned a new phrase tonight: "Irish Alzheimers" - when you forget everything but the grudges.

Eames was great tonight!

Agreed!

I guess Alex's mom has passed away. Since her sister and brother are both married with families, Alex seems to be the one who takes care of Johnny the most.

Bobby and Johnny seemed comfortable with each other and it appeared that it wasn't the first time they met.
I love when LOCI gives us these personal tidbits!

Yeah, I kind of got the sense that Mr. Eames was being "suggestive" when he brought up the "no children" thing.

I love seeing more of Eames, too.

I have to say that has to be the most relaxed I think they have ever let us see Goren, he has the look on his face like......"old story" and that the interaction between father and daughter on certain subjects are often "rehashed" and he also looks remarkably comfortable with them. Why were they there? Remember I am in UK and not seen any episode of 10 yet, any more pictures?

Kazz,

Eames' dad is a retired cop and was giving Bobby and Alex some info about a suspect.

I posted this in the "Streets" thread earlier but here are some screen caps I made in a Slideshow. I'm new at this and still learning, so they are not great. Also, not all the captions have to do with the show! Posted Image

He's the same actor who plays the guy on Justified's dad, right?

It's interesting to me that he is a racist policeman. I wonder if there is a disproportionate number of people like him on the police force.
It seems that a racist person with militant tendencies could either join some sort of militia or join the police force, with the latter being the more desirable option.
