On several occasions I have heard Gibbs call Ziva what sounds like "Ziver". Am I just hearing things or is he calling her that for a reason?

No, you're hearing things. I've seen episodes where it almost sounds like that but seeing it again on another tv or different volume settings it doesn't.

Yeah, I've heard that too. I just assumed that it was an accent and/or pronouncing it wrong... or whatever.

I have a friend... we'll call her a "friend" (with quotes!) who used to be able to say my name, but has somehow forgotten.. after 18 years of "friendship" she can't say my name correctly. anymore.

Go figure!

Put your television on Closed Caption (where it diplays the words at the bottom of the screen). VIOLA! Mystery solved.

Yeah, I have a hard time with your name too. Is the E silent or the I?

Well, in my real name the E is silent...

He is actually calling her Ziver. It's something Mark Harmon thought up to do.

I've heard what sounds like him calling her "Ziver" too. I have an friend whose dad pronouces words ending in "a" as if they ended in "er" (like "Soda" as "Soder"). When I heard Mark Harmon say Ziver, I thought he just had that same kind of accent. Maybe it is just a hint of an accent, and only comes out every now and then.

That's what I was thinking.
