I recently went into my control panel and changed the time zone to mine (Pacific), with auto-correct for DST (daylight savings time). The time is not displaying correctly, however, it's an hour off, and it even shows an hour off in my control panel preview.
I guess I could just change my time zone to one west of me, but does anyone have a better solution?

I'm afraid I can't help with this one. Maybe someone less technologically challenged will have an answer for you.

Try unchecking the box next to auto-correct for DST. You probably will have to change it back in the fall again...

I'm going to merge this thread with the Off Topic thread, now that the problem has been solved.
I think that having one behemoth thread for everything from technical questions to Michael Jackson tributes and info about people's personal lives is unconstructive. Perhaps we could start a 'technical questions' thread?

That's not a bad idea. Do you want to rename this one to make a general "technical questions" thread? Maybe I should pin it, too, so that it doesn't fall off the first page and get lost. I think I can pin threads. It's one of my "powers" I haven't tried yet.

I agree with both those ideas.

The bridge is on fire, we're flying higher now
You and I will ride tonight

We are knocking down the wall, all for one and one for all
We can stand together

I'd like to know how I can get these great pictures most everyone has as their signatures. Can some one please help?
At the top right of the screen there's a link called "My Controls". When in there, on the left sidebar, there's a menu choice about editing your personal signature. When in there, you can add many features including pictures, using the toolbar. Good luck - I have the signature view turned off, so I won't know if it worked for you, lol.

I noticed that some members who have been here longer then myself, they're profiles show their location/where in the world they live (it's up there along with post count, title, avatar, etc), whereas newer members don't. I was wondering if this is permanant?
Actually, being a new member, when I signed up, they didn't ask for things like location, etc. But, if I go into the My Controls section, now, I think I can click on the "edit" section on the left-hand side of the screen and add in all that other stuff.

Scratch that. I tried what I just said and I have no idea what to do. Sorry! Maybe someone else knows?
