Thanks guys. I love that paper Santa too. My son made it of course. It's about 15 years old and it is very fragile. It's held together on the backside with a lot of tape.

all such cute pics! I can't wait to get my flat sold so I can move to a house with a garden so I can get my cat (Mr Flying Monkey has promised me this as a house warming present). I live in a 2nd story flat just now so my choice of pets is quite limited. I had two guinea pigs, called Boris and Monty. Boris died just before christmas 2004 after suffering a ruptured bladder, i only have one pic of him and his brother and its on the pc that broke down in November. I need to go pick up the files from my friend to restore them to the new pc. Monty (or Montgomery as i called him when he was a naughty boy) died 22 April last year after suffering a stroke at the grand old age of 4. I still miss the wee guy. SOBS.
For now, my surrogate is my friends horse, Cuddles.
Boris and Monty...I love it! I had a little piggy, too. He was my first pet after I graduated college and lived on my own. He lived to be about 6 or 7, and traveled with me from Texas to California to Florida when I was in the Air Force. I loved how he would great me with a chorus of squeaks when I got home from work and he wanted his lettuce and carrot, and then anytime I opened the frig. About two years later we adopted a French Angora rabbit and the guinea pig loved him...would follow him around the house and purr like a cat. The rabbit, however, showed no interest...it was so sad 'cause the piggy just wanted a friend. Today my hubbie and I have a cat...Kitty Girl...an 8-9lb Maine Coon mix with the anti-social behavior of a 200 lb puma! I hope you get a sweet kitty!

Trying to bribe Rigs with a "cookie" to get him to sit still. Didn't work very well.
Post-holiday exhaustion:
He looks very intent on getting that cookie!! He is such a lovely wee guy. Love the tree, i took mine down on saturday. Living room looks bare without it.

talking about the squeaking brings back fond memories! i remember i went on my honeymoon and left Monty with my parents. I phoned them up and all i could hear in the background was squeaking. I asked why he was being so loud, my mum said she had been feeding him HALF A CUCUMBER every day as she thought he was hungry when he squeaked! Needless to say, I had to put the poor little guy on detox when I came back. He was a grumpy little piggy! Your cat sounds so cute, I like the sound of its personality!!

Half a cucumber a day...poor little piggy must have been a bit bloated.
Our kitty is quite a piece of work! Our neighbor's daughter, who is a pint-sized, tough as nails, 20-something year old, loves our cat. She loves that she's little, but sassy. I wouldn't mind if she was a bit less sassy. We use a quote from "Heartbreak Ridge" to describe her. She is much like Gunny Highway...she has no social graces!

Waiting for the Vet to call, brought Mina for her shots Friday. Last Night noticed shaggy has a growth, a mole maybe right under his left eye, about dime size, doesn't seem to bother him, but I want to get it checked out. Guess they were busy when I called, so they said they would call me back to schedule an appt. My pooooor baby, I worry so much about him.
Then I have to go to the YMCA I promised I would go swimming for an Hour today, even though that pool is heated I know it will be cold. It's 56 degrees today. Tomorrow they deliever our tile and grout. So I will be stuck home but will do my DVD dance workout.

We had an old beagle when I was a kid who had tons of age spots that looked like moles all over him. He lived to be a grouchy 17-year old hound dog. Hopefully it'll be something like that and nothing to worry about. I'll keep you and Shaggy in my prayers.

This is a great thread, love the pics of the pets!! A long time ago I had 2 dogs, brother & sister, that were German Shepard, Queensland Healer, Boxer mix, but they looked like Shepards. I named them Bonnie & Clyde because they would get into trouble alot lol. They were great dogs. I built a fence so that I wouldn't have to keep them chained up but Clyde had other thoughts. After I finished the fence and let them off their chains, he ran around the house and as he came back around the front, he jumped right over the 5ft fence with Bonnie close behind him lol. Bonnie loved when I turned on the hose for them and put the small metal sprinkler on. She would lay over it so that Clyde couldn't get any water lol and then they would play keep away with the hose lol I do miss them as they are both gone now.
Our dogs now are Beagles, Bayley, female will be 4 in Feb, Gallup male will be 2 in July. She is all girl, high pitch voice and prissy at times. He is all boy, very rough and tumble with a very deep voice. She "sat pretty" all by herself, it was the cutiest thing I had ever seen. Gallup because he is all legs took some time for him to be able to do that and when he does he looks like a little butler lol. He reminds us of Odie from Garfield, just a happy go lucky dog. He loves making Bayley chase him so that he can run from her, so gets frustrated and will bark at him.
Gallup in front, Bayley in back. Gallup soon after we got him.

My poor baby's eye, Its soft, it's a discoloration of the skin, with nohair.
Mina at 3months, is a little hell cat, she jumps and scratches everyone shaggy lets her know when he has had enough, we have to separate them sometimes, but she just likes to play, can't get her declawed till 6 months. Yesterday she got outside and discovered grass for the first time, took us forever to trap her and get her in, lol. So see this sofa, we aren't getting our new sofas until she is declawed. I have more scratches and bites on my hand, than from when poor tiger (RIP) panic during the hurricane and bit and clawed me.

Your beagles are just precious, SweetCIFan! I grew up with beagles and I just love them. They are so melodious! When we retire from the military and quit moving around, I'm planning to go to a beagle rescue and give a rescue beagle a forever home. The other part of my plan is to adopt a bloodhound, then I want to train them both to do search and rescue. Gotta give those good noses a job to do!

I hope Shaggy's blemish is just a new beauty mark and nothing to worry about!
There are some good books in the bookstore/library about cat behavior and getting her to stop biting and scratching (she's a cutie, by the way!!). The one thing we do when our kitty turns into "ferocious jungle cat" while playing, is just turn around, walk away, and ignore her for a while. It took some time, but she finally associated her rough tactics with the end of play time (that's no fun!), so she became more gentle. When she's really mad, though, that's another story!

Our oldest doxie, Pooch, has bumps and spots all over her. The vet said if I live to be her age I would have bumps and spots too. He said she isn't sick, she is just fine...only getting old...she is 17...going to be 18 in March. Our little dog occassionally gets little marks like yours has(usually on her face or belly). These are actually soft too and if you rub them they will rub off, fur and all and then bleed a bit like a scab...it is from her alleriges. I found a new shamppo and lotion treatment that helps way better than the expensive meds they had her on that didn't help her at all.

We taught our cat "no bites", cause she is a nibbler. She sometimes kind of licks your arm or hand and then gives it a little bit. She can hurt you though because she is a very large cat. So we taught her that "no bites" as a kitten. Trust me, it will only get worse as she gets bigger. The walk away when she gets "wild" works very well too to teach them that...or a light tap on the nose. I also, when she was a kitten and bit me hard, would poke her into her mouth with the finger she was biting, pushing her tongue down. Not to hurt, ever, but she sometimes gagged a bit, but she learned not to bite us.
Here is a new Poochie picture. Sleeping in the sun from the sliding glass door, in our old recliner.

Nice pet pix. Still haven't gotten another pet. Used to not having one underfoot; maybe we wont get another one. If we can get one that's okay with staying outside all the time, that would be best.

Thanks all for the comments & yes that is one of my fav pics of them and they love having the back yard fenced in now. They take doggy patrol very seriously too to the point where you would think there is more than 2 of them lol. I just love them. They both love to "smell the sun" in one of our bedrooms that is still empty sort of, the sun comes in in the morning and I will open that door and they both will go in there and smell the carpet where the sun is shinning before laying down to take a nap and they will "follow" the sun till it is gone. Never seen a dog do that before. Bayley also loves to lay on her back and when she especially enjoyed her meal, she just rolls around snorting lol.

My Rigs a shih tzu does his neighborhood watch from the livingroom window. He barks at everyone who has the nerve to walk by his house. It is about his only annoying habit. That is cute about your dogs smelling the sunshine. Being so low to the ground it surprises me but he loves the snow. He likes to sniff it, eat it, stick his face in it.

hee hee that reminds me of my gran's old dog. Topsy the papillion, who used to sit on the top of her chair and watch EVERYONE - also a good lookout for the ice cream van. She loved an ice cream cone!

Well doc is pretty sure it isn't cancer or ringworm, but won't totally rule it out. He is pretty sure it might be an infected scratch, since Mina has been known to scratch him in the face, and we know cats claws carry germs from the litter box. So he is on antibotics and anti-inflamatories and compresses to the eye. Doc says that is the worse place for anything to occur that would need surgery, so lets hope this is all it is.
