Hey guys, and now, we pay tribute to a man that has also competed @ Summerslam in both Tag Team and Singles Competition:
Davey Boy Smith better known as the British Bulldog
The Bulldog has competed in Tag Team and Singles Competition
His record was an impressive 3-1-1
That's 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw
1988 @ the very 1st Summerslam, The British Bulldogs (Smith & Dynamite Kid) & "The Fabulous Rougeaus" (Raymond & Jacques Rougeau) fought to draw
In 1991, The Bulldog teamed up w/Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat & The Texas Tornado as they def. The Warlord & "Power & Glory" (Hercules & Paul Roma) w/Slick
In 1992, The Bulldog wrestled in his home country on the UK when he def. his Brother-in-Law Bret "The Hitman" Hart for the I-C Heavyweight Championship in front of a LIVE crowd of 80,000 people which is the biggest audience in Summerslam History.
He would soon, go to WCW in 1993
In 1996 4 years after winning the I-C Title, The Bulldog cameback to Summerslam, only this time, he lost to Sycho Sid Vicious when Sid Powerbombed the Bulldog
In 1997, The Bulldog def. Ken Shamrock to retain the WWE European Heavyweight Championship
and in 1998, he would go back to WCW again
Not only was he the 1st European Heavyweight Champion in WWE History, he was also the 1st man to defend the belt @ Summerslam
Sadly, in 2002, The Bulldog passed away @ the young age of 39.
The British Bulldog is gone, but his spirit still lives inside his son and fellow WWE Wrestler D.H. Smith.
and that's our Summerslam Tribute to a man who has been so successful @ Summerslam
