With the recent foolish decison of USA to cancel The 4400, I am asking everyone to help. Please sign the petition, send the sunflower seeds & write letters to USA. I also have written a letter to the SciFi network in the hope that if USA goes through with the cancelation that another network will take advantage of their foolish decision and pick up the show.

To: feedback@scifi.com Subject: The 4400 Date: Sunday, January 13, 2008 12:37:10 PM Dear SciFi Network, It has come to my attention that the USA Network has foolishly decided to cancel a show called "The 4400." This is unfortunate for the network as there are many loyal fans as witnessed by the numerous petitions, letters, and undoubted telephone requests for them not to cancel the show. Their foolishness can be your networks opportunity to pick up and air a high quality, exciting show with excellent writing and actors. Please consider adding this show to your network because thousands of viewers like myself will gladly tune in week after week to a network that appreciates originality and excitement. Thank you (Just one of many viewers)
You do realize that both both USA and Sci-fi are owned by NBC Universal, right?

I think I read somewhere awhile back that Bonnie Hammer is President of both SciFi and Usa? I don't know if this is true but it wouldn't be good for the 4400.
I haven't given up yet but these things are a long shot. I love the passion I see from all the fans for this show... I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and will send a whack of seeds!
I would settle for a movie or a 6 episode set to close er out. If the best case scenario doesn't come through. Come on Bonnie wake up and smell the Promicin!

Yes, as a Farscape Fan I can attest to that fact. The same Bonnie Hammer left us 'scapers on the edge of our seats when Farscape was yanked at the end of the season with a full fledged cliff hanger. With all the screaming and threating involved, we never got another season. A two hour movie was made to resolve the cliff hanger, and the only reason that got off the ground was because Sci-Fi was not the sole producer of the show and Henson Studios wanted to end the series with the ends tied up.
Yes, Bonnie Hammer, same name, different network, same scenario. It's like Deja Vu all over again.

Why cancel The 4400? They say to give their new shows room to grow. Well, The 4400 has 3 and half seasons (that is noting that the first season was only 6 episodes). While I love Burn Notice and can't wait for its return, the others are lack luster at best. The Dead Zone is being canceled so that leaves Dr. Steve-O (who's watching?), Psyche (not all that funny or enjoyable) and Monk (which has been on for how many seasons now?????). Out of all of the shows The 4400 must have been their most costly to make followed by The Dead Zone and then Burn Notice. However, it was also their most creative and for many it was a gateway show into other USA programs. Why did I tune into Burn Notice or The Dead Zone? That would be all thanks to The 4400. This is not to mention the critical praise the show received with Nominated for 3 Primetime Emmys. Another 1 win & 6 nominations. Also, let's take a look at the ratings, while they were lower than the first season this is something in which to question. The first season, when it aired, was not really a season. It was a mini-series. A mini-series garners high ratings simply because people know they do not have to invest in an entire season and still gain the entertainment of seeing a completed story. While many viewers made the transition to the complete series others did not which is simply the nature of the mini-series format. Therefore, one should question the validity of the argument of the loss of viewers. Furthermore, the ratings may have not been the equivalent to a network prime time show, but then again outside of HBO on Sunday night what cable show is? The ratings were very high for USA and yet it was still dropped. For those that happen upon this and say "I'm tired. Nothing is going to change. Who cares about a petition?" Well, CBS renewed Jericho for this very same reason. Let's keep fighting or we will have to simply imagine what will be the end result of our favorite characters.

I don't know if anyone's noticed but the signing rate for the petition has climbed drastically. Since it was created, around 200 names have been added per day. Around the end of last week, I noticed it has increased to 400 names per day! I just KNEW that it was a good idea to hold off the campaign. Lots of people have gotten back to their lives from vacation and the news is trickling out to more and more fans. This is great and encouraging news. Maybe it's also due to Jackie McKenzie giving her support from her myspace page. Thanks, Jaqs!

I am happy to have so many signatures on the petition thread, however the general visitor rate has gone down. When the first cancellation announcement was posted, we had a ton of new & returning members. This is why I personally pushed so hard for the January 2 mailing date. Recently, the number of posters/viewers has dropped dramatically.
I beg all of the loyal fans to please, please, please continue to send letters to USA and to please send a letter with sunflower seeds on Feb. 1 as part of the second mailing campaign. We've gotten so much exposure from many websites and I really think we have a shot if we stay active & persist.
