So - the word around town is that Whitney Duncan has signed with Warner Bros.....hmmm...interesting....I guess Nashville Star this year was staged for Whitney Duncan. Remember how obvious it was that the judges would not say anything bad about Whitney? And yet, America kept trying to vote her off....(Lucky for her WB has enough pull in this country to shut down half the power in America - haha!!). At least we know our votes were counted though! It looks pretty clear now they wanted to get everyone else out of the way - looking back on it! They probably were already planning on signing Whitney to WB. I bet they never thought Angela would be a threat! And WB has barely put a nickel into Angela, and they're already signing Whitney?? I wonder how Angela feels about it....

Hey,
I said it before and I'll say it again. She is fantastic now matter what she did or didn't do on the show. She kicks Angela's ass all over the map! She has character, soul and knows how to put feel into her songs. (and she can write to boot)
I don't know what so many people don't like about her? I guess I'm not the only one that knows she's THAT good. Two Words... WARNER BROS. Need I say any more?? LOL!

Javyn, Javyn, Javyn. I defy you to wear a blindfold while listening to Ms. Mush Mouth and say all of that !!!!!! I do agree with your 2 words. Warner Brothers tried to cram Ms. MM down our throats on NS even resorting to discarding the votes one week in hopes the results from the following week were different. (I can't prove that, but I shore do believe it.) They weren't. I'll be listening to Taylor Twit before I listen to Ms MM and I'll be ice skating in warm places before I do either .
I honestly believe Season 5 was designed to be a showcase for Ms. MM. The American public had better sense and I haven't a freaking clue why Warner Brothers thinks she'll fare any better on their label. I just haven't seen that much demand for air guitar .

This wouldn't surprise me AT ALL. If she does get signed by Warner, I predict they will put alot of $$ behind her. Whether or not she sings that well live is kind of irrelevant these daze, unfortunately. She's young, blonde, and hot, which is what they're looking for. Whether she will ultimately be successful depends almost solely on how much Warner promotes her to radio and other media. And I think they will push her if they sign her.
Angela was "forced upon" Warner by winning NS, so they aren't going to put any money into her. Whitney would be their decision to sign. Same reason Sony put a ton of $$ behind Miranda and not so much Buddy Jewell or Chris Young.

ROTFL This statement almost made choke on my diet coke. I should know better than to try drinking anything while reading certain threads . Ha ha ha ha Aren't there air guitar competitions? Perhaps she should enter that contest, she might just win.

So much Reality TV, so little time! Currently watching: American Idol, Frank the Entertainer: A Basement Affair, The Bachelor, Project Runway, Celebrity Rehab, America's Best Dance Crew, Ru Paul's Drag Race 2, and Launch My Line. coming up: Shear Genius 3, Tool Academy 3, Dancing With the Stars, Celebrity Apprentice, Celebrity Fit Club, America's Next Top Model, and I Love Money 4. Just in case Warner Brothers checks in here, I'll jump on the band wagon and reiterate what was determined by the very music conscious forum members here. Whitney Duncan is not who I want to listen to.

Blah, blah, blah... FREAKIN' Blah!!! You guys have no clue...LOL! MARK MY WORDS.... she will be in the big league if she has the right backing. Charisma & Looks is all you need in this business I'm afraid abd she has a hell of a lot more than that. So even if you guys think she can't sing... she still has what it takes. Although like I said before, the show means crap. She sounds great on the recordings and that's all that matters. She sounds good live too but not on NS. But wh really did? They all sounded like crap!
And for those of you who don't like my judgement... I have been doing this for a LONG, LONG time and I know talent when I hear it. Wipe the show from your mind and go listen to the SONGS!!! THat's all that matters.
I'll just keep my mouth shut and my opinions to myself about the past winner(S) Yikes!!
Save your bashing for her PLatinum Album.... you'll see. Tee Hee....

Ok Javyn's sarcastic little self is funny and Bonnie's post-it is funny.
But really this isn't funny . I'm not an Angela fan myself but fair is fair. Where is her CD???? Having it out soon after the show and tour would have probably been the best thing for her. I would think so anyway. Seems like the fresher she is in minds the better she would do on sales. This is just plain wrong if true.

I will agree she was "purty". Angela, Zac, David, and others all sang rings around her though. So this is surprising, but maybe explains some of the judges comments towards her............

I think we all know by now that the music biz is anything but fair, especially where major labels are concerned. Warner fulfilled their contractual album commitment by rushing out "And The Winner Is..." after NS5, and that may be all we ever see from Angela Hacker, as far as a Warner album goes, we'll see.
Major Labels only real concern these daze is the bottom line, and from that standpoint, rushing out an album that costs almost nothing to produce, selling it only thru Walmart, taking advantage of the fact Angela had just won Nashville Star - that was a fairly profitable move. I don't know how many they sold, but if the album cost almost nothing to produce and promote, it was a good deal for them. Now, making a "real" studio album and releasing it a year or more after Angela won NS? not so much.
