So this morning, my boss called me to tell me the A/C was out. After I got to work a few minutes later we found out that the neighboring office and the business at the end of the building were also without A/C. Turns out, someone climbed up to the platforms where the units were and stole all the coils out of all 12 units.
After the police arrived, we walked around back to look at the damage with the officer. While we were gone someone came into our office and stole my bag.
My phone, my wallet, my pens, my iPod cord (but I left my iPod at home, I think. I didn't find it in my bag this morning.), a notebook, and my nylon shopping bags. A pair of chopsticks, my drawing compass, my art pens... all gone. I'm a bit upset and really pissed. I'm busy now trying to get everything reported and replaced. My keys were in my pocket, so my car and apartment are OK.
I called my bank first thing, and I don't have any open credit cards. I'm lucky I had insurance on my phone so it'll only cost me $50 to have a new one tomorrow. I'm going to try and call the credit bureaus so no one can open a new credit card in my name. Getting my Soc Sec card replaced is going to be a pain.

I thought it was kind of silly...who wants to "buy their friends" or anyone else for that matter? Maybe I am just old and don't get the new stuff...but when I tried to reply to the sender...Myspace froze my account and said it had been phished...so I had to change all the passwords and such...what a pain! I go to my myspace a few times a day, I have a chat box so I can IM people right from my page nd don't have to give out my personal email if I don't want to. I also like the music I picked for my profile songs, so I play it like a radio while I paint. Plus my background pic is Vincent and I could stare at it all day!
Kim, you paint? Thats great. Take some pictures of your work and let us see. I know what you mean about your background pic. I have a slideshow of Vince on my computer. He floats across the screen all day long. In other words he's always with me. lol

This is awful. Having your purse stolen is terrible. It has happened to me twice. Once the purse was dropped in a mailbox after they took the money out but by the time I got it back I had already replaced everything. A considerate crook HA.
Tasha, I hope things get better on your new job. If they don't maybe you can get back on at the post office. I hope so.

How did the move go?
Packing was last weekend which didn't go so well considering I was all hormonal and had a headache all day yesterday. My roommate is helping tonight. Move is next weekend. Got my phone service set up so hopefully I won't be offline for too long. I'll be on at work though still.

Hi Janxangel, mind if I ask you where do I find this 'Watermark' from Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro program? Thanks!

You make it. It's not a preset you can just apply to the image. You can google "photoshop watermark" and find tutorials on how to do it.
PS. Turns out my iPod WAS in my bag after all, cause it sure ain't at home. Hopefully either my employer's insurance or my renters insurance will cover a replacement...

That's a bummer!!! For once the cops are actually where they shouldbe and your stuff still gets stolen. Hope you managed to do some damage control and that they haven't been able to get at your account.
Poor Tasha - how many cakes can a girl bake????? Sorry to hear they are making you work so many hours. Maybe it is just for the first few weeks?? Here's hoping.
Oh and almost forgot - congrats on passing your Exams Valley!!!! (doing a happy Scoobie Dance as we speak)

Well it sounds like you had a day from...H-E-double hockey sticks! People are getting desperate in this economy, but it sure sucks when you get to be a victim! I hope it all turns out okay and they get your stuff replaced. Okay, I have to ask...chopsticks? hahaha

Yes, I paint...mostly figurines. My specialty is dog breeds. I do mostly cutom orders right now, but some of my things are for sale on ebay. You can look there or in the post your pic thread...I believe a couple dogs are there. As for Vincent..he is with me all day too, if only in my mind.

Someone stole the A/C coils off of Target's roof too. We just got them replaced, finally, last week.
Probably made out of copper, and there is a big demand for copper right now. I know that theifs have been stealing car parts that have copper in them in mall parking lots.

Wow, I didn't know you painted figurines, KimT! I used to dapple in customizing horses and sold them on ebay. I never had the patience to become good at it tho.
VDO is with me all day, too.

We've only had one day so far where we needed AC, but I'm a long ways from CA.

The local power company has an ad on TV where a guy dies stealing electric wire. They must be really desperate to take wires that are still hooked UP to something.

ok, here was my weird day at work.
Ok, I go in this morning and the phones are down. So we call AT&T and they tell us that the repair guy is out on a government job, and will get to us when he can.
Then later, our engineer asks why the tower (I work at a radio station, and it was one of our station's broadcast towers) is running off the generator. Come to find out, the electric company lost our check, and turned off the power. Supposedly, they tried call us all morning--course the phones were down and we didn't receive the call.
So the AT&T guys finally shows up at 4pm, spends two minutes and says that it's our phone equipment, not the line and leaves.
