The often asked question. Officially she left for "creative differences" and probably because she wanted a better paycheck. The network wasn't too eager to keep her from what I've heard, because she was often sick, which delayed production, and she couldn't remember her lines.

How can you not remember lines!? I mean, don't they shoot scenes one at a time, over and over? It's not like a play where you go straight through and if you forget your lines you're screwed!

I understand that that was part of the problem, MrMonkIsMyIdol. While they do shoot the scene "over and over", that's done to get different angles and close-ups of the actors in the same scene, to be edited together.
If an actor constantly forgets his or her line or cue, then the scene has to be shot "over and over and over and over", causing production delays and overtime and added costs for the production company. Not to mention possible over-exhaustion for the show's main star.

Maybe she's non-linear!
You know, they could have a spin-off about a nurse in New Jersey who has NLD (Non-Linear Disorder). In the pilot, she can refuse to stand in the supermarket queue. And through the entire show, she can keep flubbing punch lines, but the cast will laugh anyway... that can be a running joke...

I think that Sharona should return for an episode. It'd be funny seeing Natalie react with Sharona, and possibly Benjy and Julie.
