Looks like someone gave him a bottle of Poland Springs. That's a Nestlé Brand. I could sort of make out the label on the other photos. I think he's covering the label here. No accidental product endorsements!

LA Actors with Tony Shalhoub
I just finished a great film starring opposite Tony Shalhoub of Monk TV fame. The film was very funny and really well done. Ricardo Halpern wrote and directed a clever story with a great crew around him. It was all filmed on location at Panavision on DeSoto in the San Fernando Valley. Tony was very quiet and professional and a great inspiration. He was very "real" and down to earth while my character was over the top and obnoxious - and a lot of fun.
What a wonderful summer this has been! Onward and upward...

LOL! This picture is from my main folder on photobucket: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h168/catahecasa/. My member name there is catahecasa (another Indian chief like metacomet). I posted this picture a long time ago on the German Monk forum, when I was still a member there: http://forum.monkism.de/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=646&pageNo=4 (scroll down to the date of 9. May 2006). Unfortunately I can´t find the link, where I found it, but I remember that is was one of a lot of pictures from a festival after the first (or second?) Monk season. The other TS pictures from this event you find on my TS picture page: http://metacomet.medion-fotoalbum.de/, Folder "Monk Set" and some in "Other/andere fotos".

Monk came rushing over just as passengers began filing into the plane. He was wearing a bright yellow aloha shirt decorated with hula dancers and was eating chocolate-covered macadamia nuts right out of the box. The shirt and jacket he had worn on the plane were stuffed into his large shopping bag.
It's on pages 33-34

Is a Polish version of this book and I didn't buy it. Why? I've read Polish version in the bookstore just to know if it's as good as original version. When I've read one page I already knew I'm not reading Monk book but some other book. I couldn't feel this spirit which is in original versions...I couldn't see it from Natalie's POV like it's in original version. At least that's my opinion...maybe other translations on other languages are better

I really enjoyed seeing Tony in real life wearing that shirt from Medicine! Did he take a shine to that shirt and keep it after the episode finished filming? Is it one of his own that he wore for that episode? Wish I knew, I find it interesting.

I'd never take a photo of somebody talking on their phone or coming out from places like a medical centre like those pictures, it's like a breach of privacy, and to me Tony looked a bit uncomfortable with them being taken, but thats just what it looks like to me.

I was thinking the very same thing when I saw them. The pictures are some of the best I've ever seen of him and, unfortunately, that's probably why--some pushy photog snapped them off without permission while they were just out minding their own business. I'm enraged. I'm offended. Of course, I'm going to save them all before I storm out in a huff. rofl. I have to appreciate them now that they're here--pictures taken at events where celebrities are expecting it and are ready for it are always so plasticked up and fake. They look like wallet photos.
With the hat, I can't say too much about Brooke--she looks nice as always but I can't see too much of her face. Tony's pictures are fantastic--he looks like a regular guy there. Keeping them all. I feel guilty delighting in something that someone else had to be so vulgar and obnoxious to attain.
It's like being in the grocery store having a conflict of conscience. I feel guilty about killing animals for food and I would be a vegetarian if I just had the courage to stand up for my principles.....of course these animals are already dead so I'll just grab a package of these rib eyes. And some pork chops. Ooh--these wings look nice....

Exactly. Oh, the wallet photo comment was not referring to
these pictures--it was referring to the polished, posed pictures you usually get when they're at some function where they're expecting to have pictures taken of them--like awards shows. I won't say Tony ever looks faked but I do get tired of those kinds of pictures--make up and tuxedos and hair spray--these pictures of him above just look like some guy getting ready to go fishing or grocery shopping or catch a movie with his wife. That's their value to me--regular, everyday, untouched pictures that they didn't take an hour to get ready for.
Had it been me and some moron snapped me off like that, I'd have run over and done a Sean Penn on them! I'm such a hypocrit here--I'm so thankful to have them now that they're up in here but yeah, that was in bad taste. That's exactly what I was trying to say.

I have to say that I agree with you. I would never take a picture of someone coming out of a medical center or anything remotely close to a place like that. It is a breach of privacy. If you are at a place like that, it is usually for a good reason. Why someone is there is their own business. Everyone, celebrity or not is entitled to privacy. It is kind of like chasing someone down in the grocery store or at a movie, or mall. I also felt that he looked a bit uncomfortable having his picture taken in that setting, I know I would have been. I also think Brooke was taken a bit off guard having her picture taken as well. Like anyone else, I like to know when my picture is being taken. I think even celebrities need their privacy, and shouldn't have to worry about being photographed all over town. It makes me mad that Tony and Brooke's privacy was infringed upon like that. I am not a violent person, I am rather laid back, actually, but if it had been me, I would have probably caused some sort of scene and I am sure it would have involved me telling the camera person where to stick the camera, or just throwing it on the ground or something. Anyway, just a few thoughts. Again, EVERYONE should be entitled to their own privacy-for themselves and their families.

Yeah they are entitled to their own privacy like non celebrity people (i'm not going to say normal cause' celebrities are normal they are just succssessful enough to be called celebrities) and invading that privacy is like a felony (no seriously it should be!!) serious criime it's like watching them 24/7 in other words stalking!!
Anyway i'm not violent at all infact i hate it but i'd tell them to get lost if kt were me.

Pinkie,
I agree with you. It should be a felony, or some crime. It really is no different that stalking someone. I am sure the papparazzi wouldn't like it if some one was right there snapping there picture as they came out of a medical center or some other place to the equivalent. If the situation were reversed I am sure they would be offended as well. They don't think or care about the celebrities having privacy or there own lives. All they care about is getting the "scoop" or the next headline celebrity story. It really isn't fair to the celebrities.

I think it'd be great for the tables to turn and have the papparazzi get chased and targeted and have horrible pixs taken of them (not to say that the TS ones were horrible... Just some I've seen they're taken at bad times!

I love these photos and saved them too, calling them "invasion". I don't like that he was coming out of a medical center when they took these, he should have been left alone here. It looks like he was a little irritable in some of the photos, and in the one maybe he's waving and trying to be nice. But it's just not right. I really hate that these paparazzi don't seem to have much moral decency, the almighty buck is everything.

I agree. Celebrities are looked at as public property--these people can't even do their own grocery shopping, take their kids to the park, or grab their luggage off the rack at the airport. What the hell? They can't punch out and just be left alone when the day is done? Doctors, yeah. Lawyers, okay. They get beeped all day. Actors? I don't see any good reason why we can't leave them alone when they're just trying to do their business like the rest of us.
Growing up in Ohio, in close proximity to Kenley Players theater, I saw upwards of 30 celebrities--they were always walking around town, in stores, trying to see a movie, whatever. I guess I was used to it. I got extremely lucky encountering Vincent Price in the theater's parking lot during the day when it was empty--we were literally the only two there, and I got his autograph--we grew up watching his movies and he was an idol of ours. Still, I got a lecture when I got home. "Leave them alone." Other than that, every time I see someone famous where there's a lot of other people around, I nod at the most but I say nothing and I don't run up to them--once you do that, they get swamped by everyone else standing around. I saw Henry Winkler on three different occasions when he was out--never talked to him at all and was within 5 feet of him each time--I mailed Paramount for his autograph. Same with Sonny and Chastity Bono, Tom Bosley, Dom DeLuise, Julia Duffy--30+ years ago so I can't even begin to remember them all, but I was always taught to leave them alone. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to have to live in a bubble like that.
Remember the empathy suit in Monk? They ought to have some kind of empathy kit for
this--take one person and have floods of about 30 people follow them around EVERYWHERE for 24 hours, snapping pictures constantly, asking for autographs, saying the same things over and over and over, running up and grabbing on them, following them into public bathrooms and barber shops, having their kids audition in front of them while they're eating a sandwich--then I'd like to see how many of those people say "well they're famous, they have to expect that. Yeah, right.

I love Tony and all new photos of him are just like little gifts I get, but I have to say I just felt uncomfortable when I saw those ones and read he was coming out of a hospital. I agree with Raven when she says he was a little irritable. He was obviously trying to get rid of the papparazzi and have a little privacy to answer the phone.
I hope we can see Tony in many other situations, but with his agreement of being photographed and principally in a happy or regular place, not a hospital.
I also want to express my best wishes for him. I hope that whatever he and his wife were doing at that hospital is already solved and everything is fine.

Um, yeah. And Tony's holding his finger up in one picture and--not knowing the original order they were taken and considering they could have been posted at the original site in an order other than what they may have been taken in--that's still the international hand signal for "Please wait one damn minute or do you shut your brain off when it conflicts with your wants and whims at the moment?"
That one finger picture means two things: One, that moron photographer did NOT ask in the first place to start snapping pictures--if he did, he would not have gotten the finger picture, and two, that moron photographer got that finger AND CONTINUED TAKING PICTURES.
Tony's too nice and has too much class. He should have shown him the other finger. rofl.

I completely agree with you on the points you made. It is hilarious that you mentioned the "other" finger as well, I was thinking the same thing as I read your post. You are right, Tony has to much class and is way to nice to have given the photographers the "other finger." Although, I am sure the thought at least crossed his mind a time or two! Who knows, had the photographers stopped and asked, they could have been granted a picture or two...it would have still been in bad taste to take a picture in that setting, but I would have been more accepting of the pictures if Tony and Brooke had consented to them being taken!

This photos I took from http://celebrity.elle.com/tv_stars/celebrity-photo-10156413-Tony+Shalhoub
As you can probably guess by reading my name history 08, I teach high school history. Well, 11th Grade US History and American Government to be exact. As I am sure most of you know, school will be getting out soon and I was looking for some type of discussion question, to kind of end the school year. Having been apart in the debate on the "right and wrong" of the taking of these pictures over the last couple of days, I figured my 2 Senior American Government classes would enjoy discussing this. I could use this topic as a discussion since it touched on the Bill of Rights and the freedoms we have as Americans. I also wanted the students to understand that even though, it is good to see celebrities in public, there is a right and wrong time to do so. I showed the class the pictures and explained who they were, where they were, and everything else I knew about the picture. I asked them what we have been discussing over the past several days. Whether it is right or wrong to infringe on a persons privacy like that simply because they are celebrities. The students really got into this discussion, just as we have. Most of the students felt the same way we do, about their being proper time and place for pictures to be taken, and that a medical center was not one of them. I had a few students who felt that celebrities shouldn't mind having their pictures taken anytime (I knew going into the discussion that I would have this). Some of the students who felt it should be illegal and was wrong, tried explaining to the other students that they wouldn't like being followed around by people with cameras, snapping their pictures, and plastering them all over the internet. Overall, this was a GREAT end of the year discussion with my class, and I will probably use the same discussion again, pictures and all next year! The classes really got involved in the discussion, and I was very proud of them because like we did on here they thought about their answers and backed them up, even if it wasn't what someone else believed. Sorry, I got so long winded!!

Don't worry at all about this becoming an on-going discussion in here--it's fantastic. It's one of the few really interesting threads in here right now--because of your pictures and the issue it raised. I saved all your pictures and you share NO blame for the manner in which the photographer got them. That guy's a jerk. If they bothered Tony at all, I think he would have said so by now. I totally agree with you. And principally when you say this is one of the most interesting threads at the moment.
I have to confess I really don't like games and most of the threads now are games. Some are really boring. Actually, for me, all of them are really boring.
Some time ago, I tried to put a little... what can I say without being impolite?...brain, ideas... on this kind of thread and created something to be developed like a game but few people joined (well, again, without offenses to the ones who didn't join...but actually those were some of the most interesting people I 've read here). Apparently, games are the hit for most of the people.
For me, it's quite ok, because I have some difficuties with the language, so sometimes I'm not able to keep on a conversation, but I really love to read those threads which give us the chance to show what we think, agree and desagree and see different points of view. These are the hit for me!
I think that for people like
yvett88, who likes to talk about ideas the present days must be hard.
I hope Season 7 begins soon, because I'm sure we'll have much more to discuss about.
And Alex, thank you for the photos. They are part of Tony's history now. And part of ours too.

I used the discussion in my class simply because we had been talking about it one here, and I wanted something that would interest my students. I know high school students watch television and movies, so I knew this would spark an interest. I now know that a few of them even watch Monk, and several more have told me that are going to watch season 7 when it airs. Thanks again for sharing, we really do appreciate it!!
What a great way to capture the kids attention. I think this thread is a really great discussion.

I wanted to add http://celebslam.buzznet.com/quickies-redux-296/ of Tony to this thread so that everyone can still go to one place and find his pictures. That's the celebslam buzz net "he's less attractive so he has to be nice" video/article place but the pictures are great.

Thanks for adding this here, Yvette! I think it is good to keep all the pictures of him together, so we will know where to look when we want to see him! Not attractive my "big toe"...at least we all got a good laugh out of it!!

We know Tony looks good!

You pictures aren't displaying and they're launching some kind of login client for msnusers. Can you download the pictures to your computer? I have a website where I can put pictures and then put them up in here--can you do the same thing? I wish you could just put pictures up in here without needing a url from another site. A lot of other sites don't allow you to hotlink--which is why some of our pictures disappear.

OMG! I´m so sorry. I wish knew more about computer things. I can't download them. I published them on my msnusers, really, and I've already put others photos without problems.
But here's the link, where I found them. There are other ones all of us had seen before.
The ones I tried to put here are those Tony is in a funny blue shirt and with Robin Williams. See if you can get them now: http://www.daylife.com/topic/Tony_Shalhoub/photos/all/1

I always love Tony's new photos, but recently, there's been a few of them. I've been searching all over the web and I"m pretty sure Tony is hiding from me
.
Come on, Tony! You know you can't hide forever. Monk's new season is beggining, you have to show us all about it, you've got to answer reporters, go to parties...So, give up! I'll be always here.

I have been wondering that myself. It would make sense for him to be on at least one show this week to promote the new season. I also love seeing Tony getting interviewed...well, I guess I just like seeing Tony in general.

Alex, where did you get these photos? Is there an article too?? Where was it etc. And since you're so good at detective work, I'm putting a picture here. Where did this come from?

Alex, where did you get these photos? Is there an article too?? Where was it etc. And since you're so good at detective work, I'm putting a picture here. Where did this come from and on the wonderfur note. Look close at his hair patterns.

He's got nothing much on the upper arms put it creeps back around his arms and over his shoulders. However! When you watch "Takes His Medicine", his shoulders look relatively hair free. So the waxing thing may have taken place, at least for that episode. Also, the top part of his chest is hairless until just about the edge of his pecks and then all over his stomach, again you can see this on "Medicine". We really do need a wonderfur thread!

I've found this photo http://peterbedard.com/photos.html

Just for the record, just my 2 cents, but I really dislike the 'wonderfur' thing. It's not very complimentary, IMO Tony wouldn't be flattered or anything positive. Just MHO.

I agree with you, Raven. This doesn't sound respectful.
I guess Tony or any other person who knows him (his daughters or wife) would be a little annoyed by some of these comments. My opinion.

Yes, You're right. No disrespect meant. No intention of embarrassing anyone, especially Tony. I'll delete all my comments if that's possible. Sometimes I voice my thoughts too much.

As usual. Wow, I'm almost embarrassed to meet some of you in L.A. Hope I'm continuing to be forgiven and I'll try to chill my fun out a bit. I am an adult, surprise, so I need to be aware of my comments. Sorry Tony.

I contributed diverse comments to that hairy discussion and can only assure you that now I am very sorry for it. I didn't want to offend anybody, actually I just wanted to be funny. But since this is not my native tongue each funny intention became lost in translation...
My wish is to become an integrated member of this message board. I felt a bit neglected, rejected and ignored within the last weeks (as if I had already been blocked or ignored) since hardly anybody replied to my statements so I tried to post more frequent and more 'creative'. I didn't think of possible side effects (like this 'hair problem' - oh God, away with all those words *flushes*). Sorry, all. I just want to be accepted by you.

I don't know why I can't post photos corretly when I use msnusers. Everything seemed to be fine right after I posted this, but then when I log out, histoy08 and Alex said they were not seeing the photo, and today when I entered the board I was asked to put a password and only after this the picture appeared again.
Can you tell another way of posting pictures without using msn?

Who is this drinking Art of Tea’s Monks Blend??????
Can you figure it out?? What????
Thats right!! Its Tony Shalhoub the star of Monk and look he is drinking our fabulously rich and delicious black tea.
Why is he drinking Monks Blend?
Although the tea is not named after him or the show Monk, it is a blend of three varieties of select black tea traditionally suffused with special healing prayers to create a fusion from a whole other level!
